Headliner Fabric Buying Guide

Choose headliner material by foam thickness, stretch, backing and cut size, not color alone. This collection includes options for car and truck roof liners, sunroof panels, RV interiors and marine interior upholstery. Check each fabric’s specifications for your project.

Foam thickness: Compare 1/8-inch foam-backed headliner for a thinner profile, 3/16-inch options for more padding, and 3/8-inch quilted materials for a thicker, textured finish. Match thickness to your panel and trim clearances.

Stretch and backing: Stretch foam-backed suede offers give for shaped surfaces; non-stretch fabrics have less give, so plan carefully around contours. Foam-backed material includes padding, while unbacked, non-stretch Synergy suede does not include a foam layer. Check the individual listing rather than assuming every headliner fabric is padded or stretchy.

Yardage or fixed roll: Buy by the yard for a project-specific length, or choose a listed fixed-size roll such as 108 × 60-inch graphite headliner. One linear yard is 36 inches long at the listed fabric width. Measure length and width, allow for contours and trimming, and confirm the selected cut size and continuous-cut availability before ordering.

For cars, trucks, RVs and boats, confirm material, backing and adhesive compatibility with your panel and intended environment. Marine interior use does not automatically mean outdoor or waterproof suitability. Unsure which option fits your project? Contact us before ordering.
